I run Cool Kids Design Studio, a branding and packaging studio in San Francisco for beverage brands.
I spent years doing brand design for all kinds of businesses. Then I made a call to focus on one thing: beverage packaging.
Here's how I think about it. Packaging isn't a decoration problem. It's a shelf problem.
The real test isn't whether it looks good on a screen. It's whether someone notices it from three feet away, next to ten competitors, when they weren't looking for it.

Why “Cool Kids”?
Years ago, at a startup with fewer than 10 people, our office manager played the same song every afternoon. It kept repeating “cool kids.” I still can't remember what the song was.
But I remember how that time felt. Everyone believed the best was still ahead. That's the feeling I want founders to have when they work with me.
